Giving Birth in Iraq – A Father’s Perspective

Last week I mentioned this about the dangers of giving birth in Iraq. Yesterday morning I listened quietly as Saleem Amer, a member of NPR’s Baghdad staff, described his wife’s difficult pregnancy and the first hours of his son’s life in the hospital, where the threat of kidnapping by militias loomed large. Morning never looked so bright. .
